This is a Full Day Private Tour with private driver and guide to visit Mt. Vesuvius and Vesuvian vineyards on volcanic soil: hike the crater of Mt Vesuvius, enjoy 5 wines and explore the vineyards of a local Winery.

Our driver will pick you up at your hotel on the Amalfi Coast (select towns).
Head up to Mount Vesuvius and with your local licensed guide, reach the highest part of the crater, stand at the crater edge and enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the Bay of Naples, Capri, the Sorrento coastline and Ischia.
Your driver will take you then to a local winery located on a gentle slope of the Mount Vesuvius to relax, walk through vineyards cultivated on the lava of Vesuvio. The excursion is characterised by the visit of the vineyards, observation of lithologies that highlight the extreme stratification of volcanic soils. This is the Vesuvian land where the fertile volcanic soil gives distinctive properties to the autochthonous vines and grapes.
End enjoy 5 wines, all paired with traditional local food in a delicious lunch.

The Vesuvius site is vast and also very exposed with minimal shade, so it is recommended to use a sunscreen and to wear a hat.
Make sure to take plenty of water with you.
It is highly recommended to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.

Private Transfer to Mt. Vesuvius with pick up from one of the town of the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Praiano, Ravello, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Agerola, Minori, Maiori).

*Please confirm your pick-up point at the time of booking: travelers must comunicate the address/hotel of pick-up located in one of the town/area we serve. Our driver will meet and pick up the travelers at the address provided, when reachable by car/van. Alternatively we'll define a pick up point as close as possible to the address/hotel provided by the travelers. The exact location of pick-up will be communicated well in advance.

During the centuries multiple eruptions have changed its morphology, today the crater has a diameter of about 500 meters and a depth of approximately 230 meters.

The excursion is characterised by the visit of the vineyards, observation of lithologies that highlight the extreme stratification of volcanic soils. This wine experience will take place between vineyards cultivated on the lava of Vesuvio.
Here you'll be able to see the mixed composition of volcanic soil, result of several eruptions, learn about the traditional local wine making process as well as about the passion and sacrifices of this heroic viticulture. 

5 Wine Tasting and Traditional Lunch

Time to relax and tasting 5 types of wine, including 3 Superior DOP Lacryma Christi (red; white and rosè), literally the "tears of Christ", produced in this area since Ancient Roman times. 
These wines with ancient origins will be accompanied by delicious local food: a menu that includes extra virgin olive oil tasting, one antipasto, two main courses and a dessert. The terrace where the wine tasting and lunch take place offers a stunning view on Sorrento Coast, Capri Island, Pompei and the the Vesuvius itself.

Wow!! Just wow!!

Where to start?! This was by far our best day on our 12 day holiday in Italy! Planning this sort of experience from the internet, you would naturally have questions/concerns, but Antonio made it so easy. The excursion was so different from the usual tours: visiting the vineyards on volcanic soil with stunning views, Maria Paola, the winery owner, was so welcoming and knowledgeable, explaining how they grow, cultivate and produce organic wine. The private transfer and excursion on Vesuvius was just perfect. Food and wine simply delicious!
